    About Rachel

    Hi I’m Rachel and I am a fellow perfectionist, high-achiever, go-getter, over-analyzer, and all around “stress-myself-out-er” 🙂

I am passionate about working with people who seem to have it all together because we are generally the last ones to reach out for support and are usually the ones who need it the most.

We are typically the person everyone can count on and the one everybody looks to for advice or to have their needs met.

Unfortunately, when we finally decide to reach out for help, we may hear “everything will be ok,” “you’re strong,” “you’ve got it,” etc. and we end up deciding “forget it, I’ll figure it out myself” *insert side eye.*

All the while, we are stewing in anxious thoughts, second guessing every move, and slipping into depression trying to stay strong for the sake of those who depend on us the most.

My goal is to help you have an outlet and a safe space where you are not required to “have it all together”.

You and I will develop strategies for you to manage your stress, balance your demands and to help you focus on having a life worth living and enjoying.

My counseling style is interactive, collaborative, and compassionate. We will talk about your thoughts, feelings, and situations. I may occasionally give “homework” assignments that are relevant to your needs. There will also be tears and laughter, but most of all, there will be healing and skill-building.

If you are ready to have some relief, fill out the form below to schedule a 20 minute complementary consultation call.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

    Education & Experience

I obtained my Bachelor’s in Psychology degree from University of Central Missouri and my Master’s in Counseling from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis.

I am a licensed professional counselor in Texas (#71692) and Missouri (#2021027513). I am a member of the American Counseling Association and I maintain ongoing continuing education.

My theoretical orientations are a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), however, I will incorporate other modalities to meet your unique needs.

My experience includes over 10 years’ experience in the mental health field working in higher education, behavioral health hospitals, residential treatment centers, and private practice.

By working with diverse populations of clients, I have enhanced my skills in building therapeutic relationships and establishing relevant therapeutic goals.

My experiences in these environments assisted me in becoming adept at working with clients to diminish stressors, identify motivations, build support systems, and increase overall functioning.
